Spring warms steadily through April, reaching the high twenties before May's afternoon thunderheads signal the shift toward summer. June through September delivers relentless heat, the air thick and wet, sudden cloudbursts flooding Brickell Avenue before evaporating into steam. Locals retreat indoors; visitors who brave it find empty beaches and discounted tables.
